I am (from Sept. 2014) a Research Fellow in the Department of Philosophy at King's College London, where I also work on the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle project. I am also a Member of Common Room at Wolfson College, Oxford, where I was once a Junior Research Fellow.
I work on ancient philosophy and its later influence, especially Hellenistic philosophy, Roman Stoicism, Renaissance, Aristotelianism, and Cambridge Platonism. I also have strong interests in metaphilosophy. I have written a couple of books on ancient Stoicism, one of which (Stoicism) has been described by reviewers as "excellent", "outstanding", and "the best introduction to the subject".
As well as this website I have an Academia.edu page. I also maintain two websites, for the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle project and for the Medieval Philosophy in the UK group.
I have recently been invited to edit a new series of books on Roman Philosophy for University of Pennsylvania Press.
I am also involved in the Stoicism Today public engagement project based at Exeter and was AHRC Co-Investigator (Sept-Dec 2013).
