About
I am currently a Lecturer in Philosophy at Birkbeck College, University of London. I am also the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle Project Officer at King's College London, and a Member of Common Room at Wolfson College, Oxford. Previously I was a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson.
My principal area of research is Ancient philosophy, but I am equally interested in its later influence and have wide interests in Medieval, Renaissance, and Early Modern philosophy. I have written a couple of books on ancient Stoicism, one of which (Stoicism) has been described by reviewers as "excellent", "outstanding", and "the best introduction to the subject".
I am also an avid book collector. You can read more about this at LibraryThing and see pictures at Flickr.
As well as this website I have a Birkbeck staff page, a Wolfson home page, and an academia.edu page. I also maintain two websites, for the Ancient Commentators on Aristotle project and for the Medieval Philosophy in the UK group.
